Bring a notebook, your camera, wear your boots and bring gloves. Get ready for this immersive weekend workshop full of hand-on DOING! Covered will be more topics on the real stuff of sustainability than you can imagine engaging in for a single weekend.
We will take you through the basics of getting started in Homesteading from how to garden (a birthright skill that's been kept from the last several generations), including seed starting, transplanting, raised beds and companion planting. We show you how to rethink recycling into repurposing. You learn a variety of homemade and DIY skills, vital to reducing or elimating your footprint and getting off the grid or lightening your load on the grid.
In addition, you'll engage in outdoor cooking, basic animal husbandry. More things will be added to this event description as we get closer to the workshop.
Sustainability on a homestead brings freedom and simplicity to a complicated world around us.
Even if you don't plan to ever get off the grid, this workshop is vital information on how to live and not be 100% dependent on others. Life doesn't have to take your whole paycheck, if you're still working for others. The more you know how to do, the less expensive life gets.
This is a BONUS weekend for our PDC students, so you will not only learn amazing skills, you'll meet an already forming community of people dedicated to interdependence, community, Permaculture, and Sustainability.
Don't miss out!
