Another Trayvon. Another act of police brutality against our children. On July 3rd a mother came outside to see her son being questioning and detained by Arlington Police Department. The mother began to question the police officer about what her son was accused of, why he was being detained and where they were taking him. The officer refused to let the mother know.
As the video begins the mother was only asking the officer where he was taking her minor son, and the officer replied to her by saying she was being uncooperative. However, as the video shows, the mother remained calm. She politely asked the officer for his information and begin to ask the second officer for her information. The first officer refused to allow her to obtain the second officer’s information. As the video continues, the mother began to feel frightened for her son’s safety. She continued to ask the officer “Where are you taking my son?” and the officer refused to answer. The mother became frantic and exclaimed “Do y’all just have to constantly kill our kids?!”
As she followed the officer at a safe distance, inquiring as to her son’s whereabouts, the officer radioed and asked for backup. He then approached the mother and her 16 year-old, who was trying to comfort her. He slapped the young man and threw him to the ground and arrested him.
After both of her teenage sons were taken into custody, the mother had to go all around Tarrant County trying to find where her boys were. She was finally able to track them down and get them released after eight exhausting hours.
