About Tails from the Heart Rescue Group:
• The rescue of abandoned or lost animals in our community
• To provide vet care and a nurturing foster home
• Education on the importance of spay and neutering to end the suffering of overpopulation and unwanted animals
• Adoption into a well-matched, carefully screened loving home
WHO WE ARE:
Tails from the Heart Dog Rescue is a 501©3 non-profit organization. We are run entirely by compassionate like-minded professionals. We volunteer our time and resources to help save the lives of dogs located in city or rural shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation. We also help those who are in danger of abuse or neglect, and/or dogs given up by their owners due to a life changing event beyond their control. We are committed to helping create better lives for them through foster and adoption.
WHAT WE DO:
We not only provide necessities such as food, shelter and medical care for our rescued dogs, but also the loving arms of people who genuinely care about these animals. We actively search out suitable homes for these dogs, by listing them on our website, Facebook page, petfinder.com and adopt-a-pet.com. Our screening process includes an application profile, reference checks, and a home visit to ensure the home and family is compatible with the pets’ needs and our requirements.
HOW WE DO IT:
We are run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time to helping the homeless dogs in our community. We do not receive any government funding. We are supported solely by donations and support from private individuals and local businesses who care and want to support us with our mission to companion animal welfare. We strive to work with city/rural shelters and other humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better place for homeless pets.
WHY WE DO IT:
According to The Humane Society of the United States four million cats and dogs – about one every eight seconds – are put down in the U.S. Many of these animals are happy, healthy, adoptable pets that are needlessly euthanized because of the simple fact that they don’t have a home. Tails from the Heart works tirelessly to decrease this overwhelming statistic.
