Friends: please note that tomorrow's resolution has been postponed to December 13th in an effort to expand its scope to include ALL the highway corridors evaluated by the landmark CityMAP study. Dallas is finally taking charge of its own urban design. Now we’ll need to make sure it is done right — we hope you'll be able to join us next month.
— Join us at City Hall as we support the Dallas City Council resolution to study the economic development and housing opportunities of I-345's removal.
This study will help the City work in tandem with TxDOT as we tackle the intricate logistics of removing a freeway and restructuring the neighborhood in a way that directly benefits the people that live, work, and play in our city center. When we began this effort three years ago, the Coalition's goal was never to simply remove the elevated infrastructure that divided our city; rather, it was to replace it with a mixed-use, mixed-income neighborhood that improved Dallas' connectivity and quality of life. This study will be critical toward that end.
