The Citizen Forester Program trains community volunteers on urban forestry science and practices through a series of classes and field opportunities. The course features instruction from local forestry professionals, and provides ongoing volunteer service opportunities for community members who are passionate about tree care and education.
WHEN: Jan. 24, Feb. 7, Feb. 21, Mar. 7, Apr. 4, and May 2 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day)
WHERE: KDB Office (608 E. Hickory St., Suite 130, Denton, 76205)
COST: $50 registration (includes lunch and training materials)
Deadline to Register is Jan. 8 at 5 p.m., space is limited to 25 participants.

The Citizen Forester Training is offered by Keep Denton Beautiful, Inc., in partnership with the Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council, and the City of Denton, TX — City Hall. The program is made possible through the Denton Tree Initiative, a campaign designed to increase Denton's tree canopy by offering free trees, forestry education, and tree planting incentives to Denton residents, businesses, neighborhoods, and schools.
