These family-friendly concerts are FREE and open to the public and will be presented in Dallas-area parks stretching from North to South Dallas. Assistant Conductor Ruth Reinhardt will lead the DSO in a program featuring light classics, patriotic tunes and other popular fare.
The 2018 Dallas Symphony Orchestra Parks Concerts are presented by Bank of America with additional generous support from ExxonMobil, Cigna, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs and Nordstrom.
Artists from the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs’ Community Artist Program (CAP) will perform prior to select Parks Concerts. CAP provides funding to ethnic and culturally specific individual artists and cultural organizations to teach, perform and exhibit at host facilities in neighborhoods around the City of Dallas.
The South Dallas Concert Choir (SDCC) will perform prior to the DSO. SDCC provides a unique opportunity to enhance the cultural life of the community by educating, performing and preserving the Negro Spiritual in its original form.
